consider this story:
A young couple for years decided to save to their future. One day their dream was realized. The husband bought a new Nissan car and gave it to his wife. He washed the car and wiped it clean everyday. He watched over it tenderly so that no scratch was allowed on the car.
One day his wife took it for her shopping. While returning, the car collided against a motorcycle and the headlights and windscreen were smashed. She was terribly upset and cried. She thought about her husband who so fondly guarded the car.
The appraiser asked her for the insurance policy. When she pulled out the papers she found a small note. It read: ” In case of an accident, Honey, remember it’s you that I love not the car.”
it’s the thought that counts the most…

Hi, I have just passed my CBT for a 50cc scooter and hold a provisional licence for the UK. I am 16 and passed the CBT on 24th August. I am looking to buy a 49/50cc scooter but I have found that the insurance is extremeley expensive. I have looked around and filled in quotes from comparethemarket.com and the Post Office but the insurance I want (third party fire and theft) always seems to come out at around £300 a year! I know that some people pay only £50 a year for their 50cc insurance. Does anyone know where to get a better deal? Or does anyone have any tips?
Thanks
TOP TIPS ON MAKING YOUR INSURANCE CHEAPER!
1-have it locked in a garage (putting it down the ally way counts )
2-used branded locks (ie oxford) insurance companies recognize these
3- Go to a Motorcycle specialist insurance, Car insurance’s have no idea
4-alarm fitted is worth it, most new bikes come with standard immobilizer so don’t forget to mention it
5- Low millage , some insurances ask you how many miles you intend to do yearly, go low. (NB if you go drastically over you millage your polcy may be voided) -inside tip when they ask for your current millage just add a few thousand shhhh.
now £50 you will not get unless your excess is £10,000
i insured my HONDA CBR125 for £450 (TPFT) and its a supersport so its high in the insurance ranking
If you got the funds go fully comp. If not be happy to spend £200-£300 on 3rd party fire and theft and ride safely, i will warn you 90% of motorcyclists come off in the first 6months.
LASTLY BUT NO LEAST: when you get your insurance sit down however long it takes (1-4hours). Go though your insurance very carefully read it all make sure you know the terms. ie your bike may not be insured between 11pm-6am if it is not located in the garage etc. CHECK that they provide legal cover i opted for no legal cover luckily it wasn’t my fault so a solicitor sorted it for me, but i would recommend the £25 pounds extra.
I already own a car, but I have insurance through my parents because I’m not yet 18. In Wisconsin it is against the law not to have car insurance if you own a car, but I can’t seem to find anything about mopeds. I do know that motorcycles need insurance, but 50cc and under does not qualify as a motorcycle.
The reason I’m asking is because I’d like to just start scooting around cheaply and I’d rather not have to talk with my insurance if I don’t have to.
Also, if it helps, it’s a 1981 50cc Honda Express, with a top speed of 27mph. Well within classification as a moped.
Actually, in Wisconsin you are required to have a license to operate any motor vehicle on public roads.
autoinsurance.noneto.com – try this one. I have their car insurance and, as I know, they can provide such a service.
