How do you know when you are getting ripped off on motorcycle insurance?
I need SR-22 motorcycle insurance. The motor cycle is a 30 year old bike that I paid $500 for 3 years ago. It’s worth less than that now. The cheapest I was quoted was $1933.00. When I talk to other people that have gotten SR-22 they talk about only paying $400 or $300 every 6 months on a similar vehicle. I don’t understand why my quotes are so much higher and I didn’t even have a DUI like some of the people I talked to had. How can I honestly know that what I’m paying is a fair price?
It was a waste of time asking this question.
carquotes.sinfree.net – try this one. I have their insurance and, as I know, they can provide such a service.

If I have a “fleet” only restriction on my license, can I still get a motorcycle permit?
My motorcycle permit expired. When I originally got it, I had a regular license with no restrictions. Now, since I have no vehicle, I have no insurance, therefore the “fleet” license. So my questions is, in North Carolina, can I renew my motorcycle license with a “fleet vehicles only” restriction on my regular license. Google is no help…
Found this on the link that was given to me in the first answer…
Proof of Liability insurance
This does not apply to applicants who do not own currently registered motor vehicles and who do not operate nonfleet private passenger motor vehicles that are owned by other persons. In such cases it is required that a certification of exemption (DL-123A) be signed at the driver license office.
The exemption restricts the driver to the operation of “Fleet Vehicles Only”. To remove the restriction the driver must pay a $10.00 fee and submit DMV Form DL-123.
Possibly once you can prove you have Liability Insurance. Call the local NC-DOT and find out.
