Motorcycle ride to benefit Red Cross set for April 10
To help the American Red Cross of Northeast Tennessee replenish funds used to provide emergency shelter, food and clothing to an inordinately large number of people who were displaced by the rash of house fires that occurred across the region this winter, Northeast Tennessee Harley dealers and other area businesses have joined forces to sponsor a benefit “Ride for the Red.”

Motorcyclist crashes into patrol car and flees scene
A deputy spotted Christopher Michael Jones, 35, of 462 Wall Road in Statham, driving a motorcycle without any protective headgear. The deputy activated his emergency lights and attempted to stop Jones on Atlanta Highway. Jones turned on to Dooley Town Road and slowed near the railroad tracks.
