motor scooter insurance wisconsin

February 24th, 2010 by The Rider

What do you know about motor scooter laws in southeastern Wisconsin? Please help.?

I am an experienced driver and am thinking about purchasing a motor scooter to save fuel and have a little bit of fun. What can you tell me about possible insurance costs in the Kenosha County area (I have a flawless driving record)? I also would like to know if I need a motorcycle license or anything like that. Thanks all.

Insurance shouldn’t be too bad. I’d ask your insurance agent for a quote.
In Wisconsin, like in most states, if it is an actual Moped (50cc or less) you can drive it on a car license. If it is larger than 50cc, it requires a motorcycle license plate and a cycle endorsement on your drivers license. So if you are looking around at them on the streets and want to know if you need a cycle drivers license, just check the license plate.

scooter insurance louisiana

February 22nd, 2010 by The Rider

I have an old 49cc honda express. When i get it running right, do i need insurance and a license plate?

I live in louisiana. I have a motorcycle license and a motorcycle, but the scooter has no title and was being thrown out before i got it, so i don’t know how to go about getting a title for it. Ive heard in alot of states if its 50cc or under, you don’t even need insurance and its treated like a bicycle. Thanks alot for any knowledge you might have on the subject.

You DO need insurance on it; it’s not covered by your homeowners/renters policy. Any injury or damage you caused with it would be out of your pocket otherwise.
