day insurance for motorbikes
First Motorbike – How does it work?

So im thinking about getting a motorbike, problem is i have no idea how licensing or anything like that works. I was talking to a guy from work and he told me you take a £90 day course and after that you can have any bike upto 250cc and ride it as long as you have a L plate on it. HE also said the tax for the year is around £15, first year insurance around £200 (on a 125cc bike) and MOT £20. Obviously you would have to buy gear like helmets and jackets (would help if you could tell me how much these are) and whether the above is true, i have a driving license if that effects anything at all, thanks
so do you have to do the course on your own bike, or does the course proivde the bike?

I did mine a year and half ago and this was the rules back then…

You can ride any bike upto 125cc and no more power than 14.6bhp or 11kw on L plates with a valid CBT.

The CBT cost me £100 with instructors bike and would have been £90 if I took my own bike. (which is strange because you can’t ride it there because you haven’t got a CBT and not insured !! ) The CBT is valid for 2 years and at the end either have to sit it again or do a test to continue riding.
The course is usually a full day of training of which you will spend about 2hrs on the road. Personally I think it was easy and only provided basic training considering you will be let loose on the road on your own after passing.

Tax for 12 months is £15

Insurance varies but mine is £26 per month including legal cover etc

MOT cost £28

Don’t expect too much power out of 125’s, yes there are 33+bhp ones etc but you can’t ride them on a CBT. They simply do as commuters.

scooter insurance toronto
Scooter vs. Dirt bike? ?

Does a dirt bike run more gas than a scooter? I’m trying to ride a mini motorcycle to save money on gas and insurance. So I read if it’s a smaller CC(engine), if it’s an olser bike, a Japanese or Other Manufacturer or a dirt bike with little horse power plus no tubor charge it’s good for insurance but I have no idea about the gas…Help! lol Also, I’m just researching if it’s benefical before I decide to take motorcycle classes and really be comitted to the idea since I live in Toronto and metro passes has increased to $110 per month, plus it would be nice to not wait on the bus schedule….Please be nice,. just looking for an expert opinion.Thnxs :D

Shoot for a scooter for now…I*D*K if Dirt bikes are legal in ur state but U dont wanna get pulled ova everytime ur going 2 work or just going ova a friends house 2 hang out…

With da gas price going up, its still going 2 be cheap on ur end considering dat da gas tank is pretty much smaller…If u get a electric dats good in a way but think about da electric bill U are goping 2 recieve when u are charging your battery up.

And how about if your riding & all of a sudden your electrical wirings or your rechargable battery fails on U….

Dont worry your not da only one wiff da Metro Passes going up…Ours go up like every year & its rediculous… Ours is Probably at $90 something right now.

Mii thing stick 2 a scooter for now….
