This is not a problem except to those involved. One or both can cover their own damages, sue in small claims court or sue in full court. It’s only a problem if you don’t have the state mandated insurance and someone makes an issue of it, which can be very expensive if a person has been injured. So if you have heavy hospital bills, have been hit by an uninsured person, and don’t have coverage that protects you from uninsured/underinsured drivers, you’re screwed.
