Motorcycle/car no claims bonus – more than one policy?

I currently insure one vehicle (a motorcycle, but I don’t think it makes a difference in this case), that uses two years no claims bonus. I’m also planning a long tour of Europe, on my bike. Since the trip will be longer than 90 days, I have found another provider that will allow this.

The problem is, I need to keep my other policy active because when I get back, I would prefer to have the added extras that it provides (The trip will be less than a year). Is it at all possible to have two insurance policies on the same vehicle, both using my accrued NCB??

I am in the UK,if it helps.

It shouldn’t be a problem, as long as the second policy is for Europe only. Having two policies covering one specific vehicle is illegal in the UK. The alternative is to ’suspend’ the one policy whilst you use the other. The no claims is not exclusive, so your discount will apply to the second policy.
