motorcycle insurance bc canada

October 27th, 2009 by The Rider

Is motorcycle insurance required in Canada? BC and Yukon to be exact.?

And if so, is there a certain kind of insurance that i need? Can i go basic or do i need all the bells and whistles too?

Do you live in BC (or the Yukon)? Or are you just traveling through (tourist)?

If you live in BC, you’ll need to get the basic insurance from ICBC (who also register your bike). Additional insurance can be through ICBC or a private company.

I’m not sure what the Yukon requires.

If you’re from out-of province, you’ll need proof that you are insured in your home country/province/state.
