motorcycle insurance quote canada

Where can I get good motorcycle insurance in Ontario, Canada?

I am getting a 2007 Honda CBR 125 and I need to get a good insurance quote.

I have mine through Primmum, I called then directly for a quote. Lots of companies do this so you can compare. Keep track of the coverage details you are quoted so you are comparing the same coverage from place to place and ask “how can I reduce that rate” and “can you reduce that for me as a best rate you can offer as I am comparing with others”. Never tell them your other quotes, but also do not lie about anything, often quotes are recorded. Sometimes the answer about reduction may involve bringing a car or house insurance to them (worth about 10% at some places) but always compare costs between companies.

Things that can help with your rate: small engined bike (good start!), proof of rider training course, you can vary the deductible for losses and even decide not to cover the bike for all coverages provided you do not need this to cover bike financing but make sure you understand what this means if something happens to you while riding or its stolen. Proof of earlier insurance (even on an off-road bike) may be considered for reductions.

If you have a security system on the bike or a lock(s) you use, mention that as this might be considered in relation to lower theft coverage.

Note also if you have added accessories this may increase insurance costs, and if you do it later they may not be covered unless you notify your insurance. I am talking about expensive accessories like an after-market pipe. You will get asked about insurance claims, driving records and bike costs, again do not lie about any question asked or you could ruin your chances for getting insurance coverage anywhere.
