How do you know when you are getting ripped off on motorcycle insurance?
I need SR-22 motorcycle insurance. The motor cycle is a 30 year old bike that I paid $500 for 3 years ago. It’s worth less than that now. The cheapest I was quoted was $1933.00. When I talk to other people that have gotten SR-22 they talk about only paying $400 or $300 every 6 months on a similar vehicle. I don’t understand why my quotes are so much higher and I didn’t even have a DUI like some of the people I talked to had. How can I honestly know that what I’m paying is a fair price?
It was a waste of time asking this question.

I am looking for insurance for a 150cc Scooter. I can not find any companies that want less than $1500 a year. Geico quoted me that, but I think they thought I had a motorcycle. Any ideas on companies?
I would assume a scooter would be insured as a motorcycle. It certainly isn’t a car. $1500 seems very expensive, even with the assumption that you are a young person (although you didn’t state your age). Do you have a clean driving record?

I am looking to buy a 2007 Suzuki SV650S. So far this decisions has been been placed on price, insurance cost, easability in riding (based on what I have reasearched), and overall looks. Once I get to the dealership it will get my final approval based on the feel when I actually get on it. But assuming that I still love the feel of the bike, how do I begin the haggling process. This is the first bike for me and I don’t want to be taken advantage of. Currently near where I live, Los Angeles area, one is being adverticed as a new 2007 for $6199 OTD. Could this really be an out the door price? Can I haggle on an OTD price? Am i only allowed to touch and sit on the bike at the dealership? Could I ask them to throw in gear in the deal such as a jacket or a helmet or something?
you can haggle for a bike just like you do for a car, you won’t be able to haggle as much on a new bike as a used bike, but i would make shure they give you a few free oil changes, maybe a helmet or other freebees, the main thing is go in there let them know that your ready to buy today, and then if they can’t give you what you want then make it obvious that your willing to go to another dealership, even if the bike you want is sitting in front of you. when i bought my last car i left the dealer 2 times. they called me back after the last time and we got within 100 dollars of where i wanted to be.
just before you go set a number in your head of what you want to pay. and stick with it.
