A question about motorbike insurance?

Hi Everyone, I am buying a 125 tomorrow and with this being my first bike , I was wondering when you setup insurance on monthly instalments. When you first buy it do you only pay the deposit and then the monthly instalments the following month? Thanx for any answers in advance.
